Cummins crank in a John Deere

bigger cubes

Does anyone know if a 5.9 cummins crank would go in a 6359 John Deere block? Not sure what the difference is in deck height to see which rods could be used if the crank did fit? |

Sorry I have no idea
.On that motor series they make a 6-303 crank with less stroke. Does anyone know if that will fit in the 6-329/ 6-359 motor? |

How many cubes are you trying to get to? Why no stroke the crank that's there? |

Ideally as close to 400 as possible, but would like to use standard parts from whatever engines needed as can't afford custom rods/pistons etc. |

Another idea

I'm not sure about the 5.9 crank fitting, would have to measure the bore spacing.
What about using a 6.8 or 414 crank? You could offset grind a 414 crank journal to a 359 journal size and not have to mess with welding, 414 is just over 3" and 359 is around 2.750" on the rod journal. Or you could reduce the bore on the 414 or increase the bore on the 359. What other rules are you working with? What weight class, turbo or not, what rear are you planning on using? Could you use a 404? It would be helpful to know. |

The pencil nozzles, just drill out the hole, saw someone do that and install case bodies or modify for dt466 ones as they are not that big in diameter. Use a 6.8 block and put a 9400 combine head on it, that's only one with removable intake in that series that i know of. |

Bigger cubes if you could Email me sometime. I am curious about how on the 359 what you are doing about the pencil injectors and the small front drive gears.
Interested in how you are handling that. My Email is antechwire@bellnet.ca |
