Hey guys! I'm looking at building my 2015 chevy 3500 it has a 6.0ls. Lol g to just be a fun truck to brush pull and drag race. Going to be about 850hp on race fuel. I've had diesel pulling trucks how do they line up to a gas truck. Any input would be great in pull g withh small block |

Gas trucks normally weigh much lighter than the diesel trucks. I couldn't tell you off hand how much a 1 ton gas would weigh but most gas trucks I've seen in pulling weigh around 6,200-6,500lb and the diesels around 8,500lb. Diesel performance parts have really shifted the focus to diesels in the sport of pulling with not as much new technology to my knowledge coming out for the gas engines. |

If you can get a small block up to 850hp on gas and can get it to hook up to the sled more power to you
The only way to find out how well you stand is to go out there and do it. |

How many cubes are you going to get to for 850 hp out of a small block? |

850hp shouldn't be too big of an issue. Be ready to drop about $15k into it. And it will not be street friendly. You'll have to hunt for a good engine builder that'll reach that HP level NA. And a tuner also.
When I built my small block hemi, most of the builders I talked to said I'd need boost or spray. I'm about 600-650hp out of 371 cu in HEMI. |
