Yeah, had em grind a cam a couple years back for a LSS alky motor, They put a naturally aspirated grind on it! They very clearly had all the engine specs. The guy we had fix it at at Crane laughed when he saw the grind numbers. |

They're busy grinding a cam for Cheech and Chongs van. Problem is, their grinding equipment is INSIDE the van..........and as you seen in the movie..........the van caught on fire. WOW MANNNN...........THIS IS SOME REALLY GOOD #$&*!!
They like to wait till the eleventh hour and then it's UPS RED. So; not only do you get, and have to pay for the wrong cam; you get to pay the UPS RED also to get it to you. THEN you send them another core, and they'll dilly dally around till the eleventh hour AGAIN, and THEN, UPS RED that one out to you too. |

We had comp. grind one and no one in the tech dept. can figure out how they came up with a 1.5 rocker ratio when an IH is a 1.7! We got .620 lift an think its to much. The cam card says its supose to have .540 with a 1.5 rocker! They droped the ball and wont even tell us what to run 4 springs let alone try to make it right with us? Who is a good company to get a custom grind? |

Good luck on having them MAKE THINGS RIGHT. Most of the time, they hold your stuff hostage until you have paid up front; including the outrageous UPS RED fees, because they waited till the eleventh hour to make the deadline they promised you. My experience with the subject cam vendor was a chinese firedrill and then progessed on to the monkey with the football scenario. Your best bet would be to find a local machine shop that is IN THE KNOW as far as high performance goes. They can probably guide you on how to best make use of what you already have by suggesting the right valve springs, rockers, retainers, keepers, shims, timing, center line setting, etc. The cam companies WILL NOT give you any guidance because they are afraid you will hold them responsible for any disaster that happens to your engine. They only stand behind their product when you use their complete kits; and even then it's "iffy". That's where a high class machine shop comes into play. If you had the work performed by a reputable shop, and something happens, you're more likely to get compensated by the manufacturer because they have less of an argument when the work was done professionally as opposed to in someone's garage. It took the subject manufacturer SIX ATTEMPTS to get it right; and they charged me for every one of their mistakes. |
