Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 07, 2018 11:29AM
3rd weekend of Jan., traditionally the weekend NTPA Cloverdale is.
Both events rather close together geographically.
Have competing events to attract the scant and limited crowd of spectators.
Yep, another sure fire way to grow pulling.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 07, 2018 01:34PM
Yep.....that's exactly what I thought too. Brilliant move.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 08, 2018 06:03AM
It has traditionally been the case for the event at Gordyville that every fifth year they have to move it back to the third weekend because of building availability. I am certain Klint would prefer to keep it just how it is but it is out of his control.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 09, 2018 07:35AM
Quit being negative. Do you think they honestly would schedule t on the date of another pull on purpose? I also would think they are in contact with the opposite pull to find a solution.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 09, 2018 07:52AM
So what there are maybe two classes that the ntpa runs at cloverdale that they pull at Gordyville "pro stocks and maybe both the Super Classes"

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 09, 2018 11:24AM
Yes Swampy, I do think they would schedule a pull on the same date as another one. It happens all the time and they do it on purpose.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 09, 2018 12:42PM
Promoters always get accused of it but I've NEVER known one that actually tried to schedule on top of a certain pull on purpose. They always have a reason for what they do it's just that everyone else doesn't always know it.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 09, 2018 11:04PM
Guys, the real point to be made here is both events will suffer slightly on attendance I believe. The proximity of them indicates some of the viewing audience will be faced with a choice as to which one to go to. An unfortunate development for sure. Neither one really benefits from this.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 09, 2018 08:20AM
maybe they can set it up so they can go to one and then the other, the pullers that travel from long distances could hit 2 pulls in same weekend its not that far of a drive down 57 then over on 70.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 09, 2018 09:36AM
Maybe this is to get back at the Cloverdale people for the "only place to see a real tractor pull in January" jab they had in all their advertisements???

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 09, 2018 01:01PM

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 20, 2018 03:26PM
Confirmed tonight at Cloverdale they are moving up a weekend so they will not interfere with eachother.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 21, 2018 02:28PM
That's great to hear. Louisville will always be the granddaddy of indoor pulling, but Gordyville is the event that ushered in the rebirth of indoor pulling in the US. All the pulls that have come since then have tried to capitalize on the success that is the Midwest Winternationals. Hat's off to Klint and the rest of the Whatssmokin crew for their influence on our sport. In reality, there probably wouldn't even be a Cloverdale event without the success of Gordyville paving the way. Hats off to the NTPA as well for doing their best to keep Winter pulling as conflict free as possible.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 22, 2018 02:26AM
'lil 1456" & "jake", go to Fonda's board and you will see that apparently Cloverdale moved ahead a week so as not to interfere with G-ville late date in 2019. So I interpret all this now to mean they are both competing against one another even with the date change for each of them. Wonder if either party is communicating directly with the other?

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 22, 2018 03:08AM
They are in talks. Klint wants to work on doing a Lt. Pro sweep between the 2 events next year.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 22, 2018 03:21AM
No matter what, Indoor pulling will always be nothing more than glorified brush pulling. But, It's still fun to watch.

Re: Gordyville 2019 Dates January 22, 2018 04:04AM
I'm curious how you come to that conclusion especially with an event like Cloverdale. 320 track, top notch equipment, sanctioned with a national club, etc.
