Pusher pump & filter?

What's the best economical & reliable setup for a diesel pusher pump (12v) and filter setup for a hot farm/stock tractor? Do I need to get a 50 psi pump or will a 10 psi pump with the same flow work just as well? |

Use a FASS or AirDog setup. Or use electric pump Bosch 44 or similar pump. Double them up for more if needed. Personally not a fan of electric pusher pumps but they can work. |

Spend the extra and go mechanical pump. Thank me later when your electric one dies while warming up tractor and you didn't get to pull. |

I used an Aeromotive A1000 12v pump with their adjustable regulator for years with no issues at all. I got mine through Summit along with the AN fittings and hose. It was feeding a 500cc A pump and was more than enough. I ran it at 55 psi. |

Whatever you decide to go with feed it 50psi min, even better if you can verify the 50psi is when your at full throttle under load.

Most economical way is to find a small hydraulic motor (like a JD 7720 reel motor from a scrap yard) and run it off the crank with a belt. I also bought a spin-on filter base for my fuel filter. I have around $200 or $300 in the whole set-up and have plenty of fuel. |

Also run a Aeromotive A1000 electric pump with regulator from summit and it holds 60 psi with 8 an lines feeding a 13 mil P-Pump at 3000 rpms making 1200 plus hp on the dyno. Never had a problem with it yet in 3 years... Not that it wont break at some point but its been a great setup so far |

It depends on your injection pump type and size. I ran a red top 12 volt pump @ 10 psi for my small rotary pump and it worked good. I was told anything bigger could destroy the pump. I did try a bigger sprayer type pump from Tractor Supply with adjustable pressure and it really worked great at about 40 psi. I turned it on after I got the boost up and started the pull. I didn't keep using it for fear of injection pump damage. I did see one seize up and break the pump drive shaft on another tractor. Again this was a rotary pump. |

I'll be running a Bosch A 550 cc pump. |
