Front tires April 09, 2018 02:09PM
I'm sure this is a dumb question to most but I'm looking to buy some front tires and aluminum rims. first off i have and IH 706 front end with the stock 6 bolt hubs and if anyone knows what bolt pattern that is and maybe can recommend some rims that would be great. I'm also looking for some tires. I'd like to know the size of tire to run. 4 rib, low profile, and wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your factory hubs are an ag bolt pattern and there is no aluminum wheel to fit that pattern. Your hubs must be machined and drilled and a 6 on 5.5 chevy pattern is the easiest way to achieve this using your factory hubs. You can call me if you have any questions 812-779-6385

There is a 6 on 6 bolt pattern that works for Ag hubs that Keizer wheels makes. I also have some options available for some 4 rib tires as well. Feel free to give me a call

As far as tires I am still looking for the perfect tire for me, as far as rims there ARE aluminum rims that will fit at a lot cheaper than you think. Measure your bolt pattern and get on eBay and search for aluminum trailer wheels or aluminum camper wheels. That’s what I use so I already know they fit...

did you have to machine the center of the rim(6 on 5.5 patter} as well or how does the center bore of the rim fit the hub shoulder? I also am using the hubs/spindles off of my factory 1066. hub shoulder measures 4 5/8

I just did what Jmiley described for my tractor. I am using the spindles from a MF300 combine for a home made axle and machined new holes in between the existing 6 on 6" pattern for 6 on 5.5" and pressed in Dorman studs. I also had to trim the wheel pilot OD down to fit. I think it was 4-5/8" before I machined it, and the ID of the center cap for my wheels was 4.180".

I did not machine the wheel any. I cut the hub pilot to 4.125 to have plenty of clearance to the center cap. Having extra slopticity (that's a machinist term :-) ) between the hub pilot and centercap/wheel doesn't hurt anything since the wheel pilots on the cone lug nuts.

Thank you for responding and if you don’t mind me asking what rims did you go with?

American Racing "Baja", AR172. I bought them thru Amazon. I wanted AR136 Ventura wheels, and many online retailers showed a listing for them but when I tried to buy them they are discontinued. I came to the conclusion that all these people online selling wheels were all trying to sell the same wheel from the same warehouse and no one actually has their own stock.

I used Harvest King 4 rib 9.5L-15 tires. May not be as nice of tire as a Firestone, but a lot cheaper.

Real Wheel make a factory all aluminum six bolt AG pattern wheel. A couple different designs. DW

Drill your hubs to 6x5.5 chevy lug pattern. Go to your local tire shop or ebay and get some 15x 10 aluminum wheels that you like. There aren't a whole of options, a popular one is Mickey Thompson. Raceline Rockcrusher are the best looking ones out there in my opinion. I would like to find a 15x12 in them, but haven't been able to, just 15x10. Firestone 4 rib champion tire

I would bore out the wheel, and leave as much material on the hub as you can.
And make them fit kinda snug! Don't make the studs carry the weight!

I have a set of aluminum adapters that we built, no problems running them on a 9k hot farm. 940-668-1535 if interested.
