Enclosed Gooseneck Trailer

I'm looking at an enclosed gooseneck trailer with 3 8k axles. The axles are mounted ridged to the frame with no suspension at all. Is this normal? Looking for some feedback. Thanks |

Absolutely not, are you sure they aren't a torsion mounted axle? |

Torsion axles aren't recommended for 3 axle applications, can't equalize weight enough.
Going in and out of steep approaches puts too much weight on the one axle on heavily loaded trailers and bends them sometimes. Airride would be better suspension, if you can afford it. |

I recently bought a used 36' enclosed trl with 3 8k lb torsion axles. It was used for hauling a drilling rig on tracks everyday for 7 years with no problem. I just got home from a local pull and I really like it. It pulls much better than my old tandem axle |

My Jensen has torsion axels. Pulls fine |

The triple 8000 axles should be fine.
Most bent 3 axle outfits are the lighter weight axles (3500 lbs). The torsion axle manufacturers do NOT recommend 3 (or more) axle configurations, for reasons stated in previous posts. If the user is mindful of the issues, the set up should live just fine. |

Something to consider, having pulled both tri-axle and tandems. I prefer tandems, far
Easier on tires. Also best tandem I pulled was a Moritz trailer, they have a wider Spread between axles, pulled nice and reduced the “bucking” many people complain About with tandems. Also would consider 17.5” tires instead on duals pulls way easier. IMHO |

Could you get a trailer and have it equipped with heavier axles, maybe 10K with single 17.5 tires on air ride? Tandem axles |

The Moritz trailer was 17,000# tandem single wheel. Instead of 20,k for tandem dually |
