If you have a 466 open rpm engine with an A-Style injection pump set up for open rpms, can to low of injection timing hurt how many rpms the engine will run when under a load? Also will raising timing help put the flame out at the pipe?

What diameter of pumping plungers?? Are they the "start-retard" design or not ?? How many cc's delivery ?? What size turbo?? If I had an "A": pump off of a junkyard 2670 Case 4WD, I'd have it timed at probably 35 degrees BTDC to start with and maybe 38 degrees. Now, you didn't say where you were at ?? Gotta go. popcorn is ready......

13mm pump with quick delivery camshaft. (Intercooled, decompressed pistons, camshaft, polished head, heavy valve springs, Pushrods changed, water injection and the class is allowed a 2.8 Inlet on charger) S400 Style necked down to 2.8 inlet by 3.5 exhaust.

Pump is set at 725CC, at 38 deg of timing and on the East Coast.

I run this class. I am at 800+ cc on the fuel.
Not running an IH engine though.

Ive heard a lot of guys say that on an IH with an A-pump 44-46Deg of timing BTDC, Not sure on how true that statement is but would be willing to try if there are other guys who can verify that.
