In a 3000 rpm tractor with a 3lm turbo that seems weak what is the best to do. Do you turn up the fuel and advance the timing more or retard it some. It has a little fire (more of a glow) and decent smoke but not coal black. Have seen tractors with no fire and coal black smoke win and seen different tractor with more of a haze out the stack win. No water injection in these tractors to put the fire out.

turn the fuel all the way up, try advancing the timing to 40, and investing in a big wheel 3LM turbo to cleaup all that black smoke.

sorry looks like no one wants to help u. what are your rules? i would lower the timing to lug better but cant say for sure dont know what your set up is!

What set up are you running? Are you Deere, IH, or ? Be more specific....and every tractor is different. Some like more fuel some like less fuel. I personally have set them up to run way more fuel than you may think it needs but the tractor likes it and wins consistently and others run better with less fuel and they also win consistently. Experience has shown a fuel setting of anywhere from 320cc to all the way up to 440cc's on a 466 cid with a box 3LM will run well...Best advice is to worry about your own tractor and quit watching everyone else and wonder why theres does this and theres does that...get with your "builders" and find out how you can get more out of your setup!!!

I had a 414IH with an S300 and 13mm Ambac rotary on it. The pump was at full fuel and the govenor locked out. I had the timing set at around 44. Started with no either. Had a glow going down the track with little smoke. I ran it that way for a couple years before putting on a p-pump. I ran two teeth over 3rd to road gear and usually spun out at the end of the track.
So depending on your setup i would put more fuel to the pump and advance the timing.
