Boost limited class?
|
What do you think??
|
Does anyone have ever seen a Boost limited class ? Couple guys talk about creating a new 466 or 504ci 3x3 class with bost limitations with a blow off valve. Small cube are allowed more psi then the bigger ect.... |

More classes to suit someone's new dream. Likely becuase they could not compete in some whatever class. More rules to write & enforce (yeah, Right!!!) and confuse the announcers who in turn confuse the spectators as to what they are watching and trying explain the subtle difference between this new wannabee class versus some established rather similar class. And the bottom line is, hey, it's just another smoker tractor class. Alright, we got 3 guys who say they will build one. So let's sanction the class. Somewhere. And let's see how many of the 3 actually show up at the first pull. And rest of the season. Okay. That wore me out. Let's nix the whole idea. And build something that already offers a goood and sustainable class. |

Yep

I agree with you about more and more rules and class. They said they want to limit horsepower by limiting boost... not sure that is the best way to do that?!? |

The little motors get this the big motors got to do that. All of that is crap.Make it a heads up class nobodys already got one so why start all the controversy a 466 cube engine is just as cheap as a 400 |

this could be really neat, on the exhaust side you have to install a spark plug in the pipe that way everyone knows that it has popped when the flame comes shooting out of the pipe; make for a big time addition to the smoke |

Cart -USAC had boost regs for quite awhile on turbo Indy cars. It was always a mess someone always complaining about their pop off valve being weak, plus maintaining all valves for all cars and keeping them accurate. I just don’t think it would be the way to go, would be a tech nightmare to police. |

Would not work...boost is merely a measure of resistance. The better the air flow the less boost with the same cubic inch and turbo setup. |

he hit the nail right on the head .boost mostly is all bragging rights.lots of factors play into an engines output. |

Yes,-- boost is a measurement of pressure, resistance or back pressure,so a high number can be deceiving, good boost numbers with flow is what makes power, good flow under pressure is evasive, because air doesn't like to be pushed,it has it's own mind. So many factors in all areas of performance.High hp without proper chassis setup wastes power. Many things to be considered in motor sports applications. |
