706 dt466 swap

Hey guys I’m wanting to put a dt466 in a 706 and was wondering if I use 66 series frame rails can I still use the 706 tin work . Thanks for any input. |

With work to them for the front engine mounts, yes. 66 ones can be cut down also. All in how nice you want it to look. |

If you're using the stock front bolster, you'll need to make spacers between the 66 series rails and the bolster, since the rails are wider. It does make bolting the engine easy, if using a normal 400 series front plate. The hood won't be long enough, but you can use a 560 hood, and trim a little off. Using the 06 rails will require the front plate to be narrowed and ground to fit. If using a truck engine, just make the front mount. |
