Putting 8970 motor in a ford 9000
|
Wondering what it takes to put a genesis motor out of an 8970 into a ford 9000. I want to know everything that has to be done to get the engine to fit. |

I would like to keep the stock bolster. I read somewhere awhile ago about putting a 40 series damper on it. I think it’s been awhile since I was looking into it so I can’t remember for sure. |

will bolt right in. not sure what clutch your using but i put an atlas clutch in mine and had to do some sanding on the bell housing so it didn’t rub |

I was wondering about the balancer in the front being an issue? And the clutch I got now is only a single disc once this motor goes in I will go to a dual disc. |

If you are using the stock front bolster ,you will need to either modify it or change the damper. also the oil pan may have clearance issues |

I have done it, you need to cut about 3/4" square out of the bolster for the oil pan to clear. However, mine already had a modified damper on it when i got the engine so i didn't have any problems there. I still have my stock bolster here in NW Ohio if you want it instead of cutting your's apart. |
