6030 turbo

I have 6030 john deere. I am wanting to upgrade the turbo. Wanting one bigger than stock. Was thinking of a s300 but is there any better options out there for more of a drop in? |

Borg Warner S400. Specifically the S463 with T6 housing as it won't require an adapter plate going from T6 manifold to T4 foot. Part Number 169012. Just buy an exhaust elbow and marmon flange adapter, and make your own exhaust exit. V band flange and adapter will need to be welded/made to work with the intake pipe if using factory intercooler. |

Planning on staying in farm stock class for next year not many rules in the area. I've heard the stock turbos are not very efficient that's why I figured I would start there |

If there "Are not many rules" Be prepared to get blasted. So called "Stock Classes", are not so stock any more. Good luck. |

That is correct, the stockers are NOT the best in their stock form. It's 40yr old design/technology. Modifying the cover/wheel's will help out, or just slap an S400 on it and you'll be good. The 463 is the smallest S400 frame charger, and again that part number comes in a T6 foot, so it'll bolt to the manifold instead of requiring a T4 to T6 adapter plate like a little S300 would. I believe the flow rate on the 463 is 66lbs/min, so even with efficiency losses across the Compressor Map, you will have enough air for 600hp no problem.
This would be a good charger for 6th/7th gear 6030 with a good pump and injectors. or even 5th and 6th gear if you just want to max that pump out and be in the 300+- neighborhood. You could even farm with this charger still if you watch EGT's and make sure not to lug it on a hill with a load behind it |

I agree with just saying. I haven't seen a "STOCK]" 6030 on the track in 25 years. If your running against other 6030's plan on being at 1000 hp bare minimum. Even a small block of any color is running way over 500hp. At least in my area. |

I saw some pretty stiff running IH's at Loudenville street fair just a week ago. Dont know what they had under the hoods for turbos, but they were no joke! I would guess they would give the 6030s all they could handle. |
