Short answer ........ new model 466/530/570 match each other in the new series BUT that new stuff to old stuff (400 series) do not interchange. HOWEVER if you want to spend the money at the machine shop its possible I built a 530 about 15 years ago. It ran good but I wouldnt do it again since so many better options are readily available without all the bastard parts and machine work. |

There is the DT408-466-530 Family which was first. They were mechanical fuel early on and then HEUI fuel systems. Then, there is the 466-570 family and they are different. So, if it is the older (early to mid 1990's ?) you can drop in 530 pistons and sleeves easily. |

If it has an in-line injection pump on the left side up high, it should be a DT408-466-530 family. If it is a 466 it has the same 5.35" stroke as the 530 and 530 pistons and sleeves drop right in. If it is a 408, it can get turned into a 466 by changing the crankshaft and then into a 530 by changing pistons/sleeves. The DT466-DT570 family is the same bore between each, but a longer stroke crank in the 570. |
