Figuring gear ratios January 20, 2020 07:45AM
Okay, so I'm having a brain fart and can't remember how to figure gear ratios. Two sets of gears, first has 39 tooth drive and 54 driven, second set 29 drive and 37 driven. First set drives second set.
What would be the ration through these 2 sets of gears?
Thanks.

divide 54 by 39, = 1.3846; divide 37 by 29, = 1.2758; multiply 1.3846 x 1.2758 = ratio, 1.766 through both sets of gears.

Thanks. Thought I was right doing it that way, then had an old man moment and wasn’t sure.
