How much HP do 466 pro farms make with GT42 box turbo. January 28, 2020 03:29PM
Around here in Illinois & Missouri a few groups run a Pro Farm class at - 466 cube - GT42 box turbo - 13mm pump limit - 3500Rpm limit - no intercooler- with water injection - 20.8 tire limit at 9500 lbs. Some other groups around have adapted this turbo rule also.
What kind of HP can you make with this setup, and does the turbo hold up well.

466 with box stock gt42 roller bearing will be 950-1050 with no cooler 12 valve head. Same setup with Hart’s turbo is 11-1200 range no cooler 12 valve head. We are talking on pump diesel fuel. No exotic fuels.

It is exactly what it implies, out of the box stock charger with a stock wheel. No alterations.

A box GT42 is an unmodified oem turbo from garrett. No you can not run a fair valley wheel. I believe you can find the rules for the class on PPL's website that outllines the turbo and the rest of the ruleset for this class. Cowtown has the western series ProFarm of which uses the box gt42 and also MSTPA's ProField classs which allows any 3" turbo

Just a thought turbo is just telling you the truth. The main reason some people like a box charger rule is because they know that they can buy and run a better turbo than the rest of the class. #FACT

Most clubs with a box gt42 rule also have to be sealed. Spend all the money you want on modified parts but when you take it in to have their seal put on it they will disassemble it, inspect it, reassemble it and then seal it. If it's not pure factory you wont get a seal and you wont hook with them.

the Box turbo rule is pointless. Every turbo comes out of a box it just depends how much you want to spend on that such box

Turbo, turbo, turbo your not very smart. That is the whole point of a box turbo you have to know how to tune your tractor, weight your tractor, read a track, pick the right gear and be able to drive. Not just who can spend the most money.

You may read a track tune your tractor find the right gear and passed the parallel parking and saved your money...But the guy that spent the most is going to come out on top most of the time

SCWTP does not match these rules. Im looking for a box gt42 3500 rpm 466 class. Im done playing the $5000+ turbo game. Harts can make their money off of someone else. Box chargers are the future, the sooner clubs figure it out the better pulling will be.

Last year, I believe that one of the tractors in the 466 Pro Farm did run the GT42 at 3500 RPM as a trial and was pretty competitive with it. Wade could probably give more insight than that, so give him a call.
He was third in points with the class, so I would consider that competitive.

SCWTP has the box turbo rules in for the Pro Farm Class. 3500 rpm sealed box gt42 13mm p pump 20.8s 9500# I currently am running one and have been for 2 years. My tractor runs against the 3x3 billet tractors. Yes it is the same rules as Gordyville. If you want info I am a class rep for SCWTP Pro Farm.
