Huge story: NHRA returns but John Force Racing sits out July 06, 2020 07:24AM
NHRA resumes this weekend with 2 races at Indy, one this weekend and another next weekend before hitting other tracks.

There have been rumors on drag racing message boards that JFR was parking for the year. As of this post, no announcement has been made, but the entry deadline for this weekends race passed at noon PT (3 PM Eastern). None of the JFR cars are entered.

For those of you who aren't aware, many top NHRA teams like Force and Schumacher have shops literally 10 minutes away from Lucas Oil Raceway, so for JFR to not enter a race so close to the shop signals the rumors are true.

There are 18 TF and FC entered this weekend, so both divisions will have full fields. However, it will be imteresting how the absence of John and Brittany Force and Robert Hight will affect tv ratings.

As an aside, Bob Tasca tested positive and miss a couple races, but his team has a replacement driver for the next 2 races.

Jonnie Lindborg a fine Aussie driver will drive for Tasca. Mike Salinas aka Scappers racing two cars and one prostock bike won't be there.

As an update, NHRA cut the purse, and the price of nitro has gone up(made in China. Thank you EPA).

While races this weekend and next in Indy will proceed, the event announced in Denver is very iffy. The track there is on the naughty list with their county health dept.

NHRA can endure because of the sportsmen racers, but it will be intetesting to see how the pro classes may change in the future.
