Firestone ag tires ?? September 02, 2020 06:20AM
School me on firestone tires 18.4x38.was at a dealer looking around at new 18.4x38 tires for pulling.i seen 3 different types
Super all traction 2 with 30 bars per side
Super all traction with 28 bars per side
And a deep tread, forget the bar count, but had a symbol like e3 or something on it.
What's the difference between them ?,which is better and why is it ?the super all traction did have different size and types of writing on the cases, please school me

The Super All Traction 2 has less bars than the regular super all traction
The deep tread is a radial tire which has been discontinued. There was also an AD2 and 3 Technology tire which might have had Deep tread on the side but they didn't make many of those
Also depends on what class you run to which tire is better

These would be for a 5k to 65k lbs natural super stock class,I'd say 600 hp would be the top end but possibly a bit more

If you have to stick with bias tire you would want the Super All Traction. The SAT 2's are more for antique but if you can run a radial run a radial.

Did firestone discontinue the 20.8 38 deep tread?

Re: Firestone ag tires ?? September 02, 2020 01:04PM
Firestone has the Deep Tread 23 which is dual marked. A 20.8R38 converts to a 520/85R38 metricized tire.

Roadkill....they all have the new metric number of a 520/85R38. The regular 20.8 radial all traction is discontinued.
Hot Farm 20.8...I was talking about the 18.4x38 Deep tread being discontinued
They still make the 20.8 deep tread but will be discontinued down the road.I can not say when that will be
