turbochargers

Ok I'm a Big Block Chevy guy with superchargers so turbos are a foreign to me. I understand the size, 3X4, 4.1, etc. but what turbo are they using?
I know where is an old 4 charger setup that what I know is a an 8 on the bottom an 8 in the middle and a pair of 74s on top. Is there a chart somewhere that will tell the size of these ( I understand housing can change). Also has anybody been successful with a 360 diesel with twin chargers in the LLSS? |

According to rules i have seen for LLSS a 360 inch engine is limited to one turbo with ice box. 310 inches and down could run twins. |

12. Maximum of 360 cubic inches for twin turbo charged diesel engines and no intercooler or after cooler allowed. (Turbo(s) must be staged) o This engine combination can run a maximum of two (2) 3X4 smooth bore turbo(s). No MAF enhancement.

I’m not sure about the twins in the LLSS because I’m no familiar with what it takes hp wise to win in the class but I do know that there were quite a few 666 with twins making anywhere from 1500-1800 and this was in the 80s. Hypermax did most of the work for the best of these early diesel 5000 and 7000lb super stocks and those tractors were right there with the 400 series motors. That was definitely a fun class to watch and I believe that the LLSS would be the same way. |

They probably weren't running 2 - 3 inch chargers back then, probably something like a 95 on top and an 8 on the bottom, it takes about 1500hp to run competitive in LLSS. |

So if the twin diesel combination isn’t competitive, what do most of the top running LLSS diesel run? Do they run single charger with intercooler or no intercooler and bigger cubes? |

Most run big cubes, there is a few that are 410 cubes an intercooler, both are very competitive. |

We have a couple guys running the 315 cubes with twins with intercooler. They run just as good as are 410's . |
