12-13k RWYB/ Hot farm Gordyville 2021 December 12, 2020 07:36AM
First time posting in forum. Testing the waters for a 12-13k run what you brung /hot farm class for gordyville 2021. Would like to base the class off of the 13k RWYB at the Heart of Illinois fair. Following their rules for tire size, open rpm, turbo, cubic inch limits. At the fair there was 30 plus tractors I think it would be a cool class for gordyville.

I didn't think there were any rules in a rwyb class other than weight and hitch?

Re: 12-13k RWYB/ Hot farm Gordyville 2021 December 12, 2020 09:59AM
The pull at the Heart of Illinois fair put a tire size limit. That kept the higher hp tractors out and kept it more of a brush pull. 20.8 was maximum width and it kept things pretty fair i thought.

So other than 20.8s, 20 inch hitch, 13000 lbs, you can run any engine, turbo, cubic inches and so on?

Better yet, just open up the rules in the 12,000 king of the hill class. That class only needs 3 rules: weight, hitch height, and speed limit. If 15mph is too slow just bump it up to like 18 or 20mph, but it would atleast allow any brush puller tractor to compete and the speed limit would level the playing field making any tractor capable of being a gordyville champion.

For the love of God don't put some dumb a$$ speed limit on a rwyb class.

Re: 12-13k RWYB/ Hot farm Gordyville 2021 December 12, 2020 02:13PM
I wouldn't want to mess with the 12k king of 15mph. Those boys have their tractors set for that speed. Everyone has their preferences of what they want to pull and I don't want to try changing their class. I agree with the no speed limits.

If they put this class in they are going to require safety equipment steel flywheels side shields air shut off rpm pickup dump valve roll protection etc if that happens I would imagine most of these tractors can find a class to run farm stock, pro farm, hot farm etc I would suggest reading the rules for each class I’m sure you would meet one classes rules them You can run whatever gear you can hack

If you aren't planning to pull in the class don't worry about it

Re: 12-13k RWYB/ Hot farm Gordyville 2021 December 13, 2020 02:24AM
With those rules what stops a BSTP 640 pro farm from jumping in the class?

Re: 12-13k RWYB/ Hot farm Gordyville 2021 December 13, 2020 02:52AM
Nothing... that's the point

Re: 12-13k RWYB/ Hot farm Gordyville 2021 December 13, 2020 04:00AM
Absolutely all safety equipment. Everything from wheelie bars to air shut offs, pulling hitches roll bars/cages.

Re: 12-13k RWYB/ Hot farm Gordyville 2021 December 13, 2020 03:54AM
Absolutely safety is our number 1 concern. No one wants to see anything bad happen. In the rules there needs to be safety equipment (roll bars, air shut offs , steel flywheels, rops/roll cages) insurance companies aren't oblivious to whays going on there are alot of hot tractors even at county fair level pulling. As far as the badger state 640s or the 11k profarms gordyville already has it would be fun to see how brush pullers would measure up against those guys. A class with a wide variety of tractors from different classes would be fun to see compared to a dozen 6030s and a dozen 1066s in every other big class at every pull in the country

Ain't gonna be pulling it, an you can guarantee i won't be watching it either if they don't have ALL the safety requirements. Apparently you ain't never seen one come apart, i know of a guy that is no longer with us over this very thing, just sayn !!!

Seriously - stfu about it - when people's lives could be at stake -- that is your response ? Wow - some people you just think are stupid and then they open their mouth and it removes all doubt and then when they respond with " stfu about it " shows your ignorance and frame of mind and believe me im not the only one thinking this--- God forbid it ever happen to you or someone you know ( cause it did to me) you might not be so asinine ignorant in your comments.smh

Any competition vehicle that is 10% over stock parts or factory settings,SHOULD HAVE ALL SAFETY requirements , NO EXCEPTIONS !!!!! That should be required no matter what class period !!!

Re: 12-13k RWYB/ Hot farm Gordyville 2021 December 13, 2020 10:47AM
Many farm tractors coming off the assembly line are pushing 20%.....or more.....over the rated hp.
We had a JD 4450 doing better than 20% over rated on the shaft on the dyno.
Put my 6420 on my dyno and it was pushing out a tick over 30 % over stock pto rating. .
They were bough new and never messed with. In a county fair pull, i don't think 20 or 30 % warrants all the safety stuff .
What percentage over stock, warrants safety equipment , I don't know, but I'm considering starting up a small stock tractor pulling club.....(not antiques)..... in the next yr or two, but at what percentage over stock "does" start warranting safety equipment, is something that's a concern to me.

Attention "well then again" December 13, 2020 11:00AM
I deleted your post. Check your filth at the door when you post on this page, kids read this page too.

Furthermore - If you have a problem with safety equipment on competition vehicles, find another hobby. Plain and simple.
