Hamburg & Bowling Green same weekend? August 20, 2009 06:49AM
Just wondering how a major ppl event got scheduled the same weekend as the ntpa championships in Bowling Green?
I guess that means alot of ppl guys that used to come to BG will be in NY instead, is ntpa losing it's grip on the tractor
pull world and ppl has just as much power or more now. Any comments would be great on this matter, thanks.

The Erie County (NY) Fair happens to fall on the same weekend this year as the NTPC. BG starts on the third Friday of August. Last year it was Aug 15, this year it's Aug 21.

72 superfarms, 42 TWD, 13 SSO, a bunch of LSS at BG = Great show, too bad for all the competitors that chose to go elsewhere.

i know that between the PPL and the NTPA there is a power struggle but with hamburg moving the date of there pull they are on the same night as a local county fair about 40 miles away and that hurts everyone. the guys who are chasing the points for ESP have to go to pike even if they wanted to go pull with the big guys...pike loses out on pullers who went to hamburg..i just dont understand why PPL chose to move the date right on top of a local PPL pull. then you have the fans that like to go to both..they also have to decide...just makes me wonder why

Another poster mentioned Hamburg moving the date of their fair, but the sanctioning body has ultimate control over whether they will/won't sanction a pull on a given date. There are numerous promotors who have wanted an NTPA GN pull on a certain date, but were told "no" because those dates were already taken by other pulls.

Having an event against BG is not the problem as we see there are more than enough pullers to support both pulls. The problem is like Howie said scheduling against your state level org. Friday ESP was in Pike(1 hour) and NYTPA was in Frankfort(3 hrs). Thats taking the local pullers out of the equation and all the fans. As someone said earlier, western NY does not have an over abundance of pullng fans. Hopefully the crowd in Hamburg is a lot bigger tonight because last night was looking pretty lean.

rocky, i couldnt get to either one this year but if i could have it would of been pike. thats my home county pull and where i pulled for 10 years.

Saturdaynight at Pike was GREAT, The stands were full and the show was excelent. As I'm sure Rocky will agree. Thanks to all the ESP pullers and some of our NYTPA pullers we put on a great show for the promoter and the fans. Congratulations to all class winners and to the
Pike fair for another great year.

when I am in the process of down loading I can not creat a link to post. Ed is correct the simplilest way is to go to ESP site ans click on photo gallery then any ESP pull that will take you to my site then you can look to the left side for ESP and non ESP events I have attened.Any problems please let me know. I have not had much feed back.
