If starting with 1100 Massey Ferguson rearend to build a LLSS who would a person contact about parts and questions?? Basically the basics obviously needled and performance gears?? Would like to put a 5.9 cummings on alky in front of it id think that would be easier then messing with the Perkins |

1100 Massey rearend will not take the HP of even Super Farm, shells out one of the gear pairs in the high/low range. A Profab can be installed but make sure it is straight and WELL anchored.

A Massey rearend and transmission will certainly take a bunch of power, especially below 10k#. We also have some ProFab gears and hi/low in ours (ours is an 1135 rear).
Jason Ervin at Ervin’s Tractor Service in Kentucky (look on FB or I can give number) does a fantastic job helping with our Perkins and all Massey stuff in our ITPA Light Pro Farm. 5.9 certainly would be easier to get going depending on what you’re looking for. Let me know if you have any questions I can help with. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/30/2021 01:17AM by BigChiefMassey. |

Yep, absolutely should have mentioned that. 8-speed is a must |

Would a 8.3 cummins be legal to run in front of a 1100 rearend? |

As far as I can tell an 8.3 would be legal in any AGCO umbrella tractor setup. |

An 8.3 came in a Massey 9240. It was the same as a 6215 White although I have never seen one in the USA. |

You can also go the Oliver 1850 rear route with the 5.9 and still run the Massey metal in most associations. |

The later model perkins heads are pretty nice |

And yeah, if you don’t care about being a Massey and just want the sheet metal, I would say the Oliver rear with the 5.9 would be the way to go. That’s how Paul Knights Massey is setup and that one is a beast. |
