They were there, I talk to one of the crew members at The Fort just before they left for Tiffin. He said that they were having ignition issues with the tractor so that could be why they didn't run. I'm not sure where OSTPA stands on letting a radial engine run with them, NTPA just opened up the option for the radial's to run in the last couple of years.

Prior to the Tiffin pull start, "Radial Reactor" was running and warning up in the pits, belching plenty of exhaust, as a throng of spectators surrounded the unique Mod.
I was really looking forward to seeing it pull and photograph its action. Unfortunately, it never made a track appearance. I do not know why. |

They were suppose to run with us and were registered that day. They had it running for a little bit in the pits and shut it back down. Maybe 10 minutes later, and I don't know if they were restarting it or just standing around, it blew the injector hat apart. I can only assume they tried to restart and it backfired. It sounded like a 12 ga. Injector had looked lile carbon fiber and was no longer useable. They had to drop out.
OSTPA has voted them in on a contingent basis. |

I know exactly what that explosion sounds like. We have blown up 2 of them exact same hats this week on a Allison. |

I know the Radial Reactor Team petitioned the NTPA for a few years but I never heard why the NTPA was reluctant to allow radial engines for so long. They seem to be an interesting option in Europe and I think they add some extra flavor to the class. Jake Morgan Owner, PULLOFF.COM Independent Pulling News This page is a free service. The cost is covered out of my pocket. It takes a great deal of time and a fair amount of money to keep this website going. Donations for: photos, classified ads, forum discussion, etc... are appreciated. Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal. |

Why not allow them? They aren't the cookie cutter modified everyone complains about and they aren't super likely to dominate the class either. Let them compete! The NTPA actually did the right thing with this |
