Turbo CFM August 28, 2021 06:44AM
Anyone know the amount of CFM the latest 3 inch turbos are flowing? What’s the MAF moving over smooth bore?

Smooth around 140lbs/min
Slotted around 160lbs/min

what would that come out to as CFM.

No one rates chargers in cfm, lbs/min has a direct correlation to how much HP a turbo will support.

You could calculate cfm if you happen to know the air enthalpy which is directly related to air temperature and density.

What is the equation for figuring out lbs/min for a certain horse power or general rule of thumb figure?

lbs/min X 10 = horsepower (rough estimate)

160 lbs/min = roughly 1600 hp
