I am looking into purchasing a van trailer and am curious of what people like the best for a ramp. I have see a lot of different options and thoughts from cable winch to hydraulic. Needs to be capable of holding a 11,000 lbs tractor. Info and businesses would be great. Located in central Illinois thanks |

I can send you pictures of my build. On my Kentucky I did a beaver tail with ramp controlled by a 4,000 pound ATV winch. 209-652-3473 |

There was an antique puller that pulled at Tunica that had a van with a cable lift to open and close the ramp. I do not know the specifics, but the cable let go and the ramp fell on him, putting him the hospital. The year I was at Tunica they were doing a fund raiser for his medical bills.
The reason I mention this is as a caution, if you are going to use a cable lift, make sure everyone stays out of harms way. Rich |

I built my own....make it heavy and if you use a winch dont go with an atv winch....i used a 12k lb winch from harbor freight....yes its overkill but like said above if it falls and hurts anyone you will have to live with it....i make sure everyone is clear when going up and down.....if you make it to light it will bend and once its bent then its going to look like @#$%& lol |

Is it true enough to provide a good seal to keep rain out? |

I built my own ramp door to replace the factory swing doors and make 1 solid ramp, mounted a 10k winch in the center and have loaded a 12k tractor and 10k skid steer several times. |
