Looking for approximate ground speeds of a factory Ford 9600 tranny (no dual power) 6th, 7th, and 8th gear at 3000 rpm with a 20.8-38 tire? I know there are variables like tire rolling circumference, load, etc. Just looking for some place to start. Thanks |

This was on Tractor Data , but the Nabraska tests say that model was tested with 23 x34 tires but the speeds listed on the test will probably be close.

8th at 3000rpm in 20.8s should be about 25.2mph
7th should be 18.7mph 6th should be 12.6mph |

7th gear with 15% tread on 18.4x42 is 19.1mph. 20.8's like to cause a power hop in my experience. |

Many hop issues are actually clutch adjustments, |

If your clutch is right and your tire pressure is right they shouldn't power hop..Mine dont. |
