I currently have a IH 706 that I am wanting to use to build llss but I am wanting to know if you can use the rear end and eventually get it light enough we have had some people tell us to us IH 666 but I am not afraid to do the work to make the 706 rear end work.
We plan on putting in a profab transmission 3 or 5 speed Has anyone got a 706 that light before and if so do you have any tips? Also it has a IH D282 motor in it that we haven’t heard much about. We are wanting to make it a 370 cui alcohol. Has anyone used this motor before? Has anyone converted one to alcohol before? If you have used this motor before how is it getting parts? Also don’t need to have the latest and greatest parts we are low budget just to get started |

several have done the 706, its not easy, but can be done, do yourself a huge favor and get rid of the 282, either get ahold of a dt360 or you can destroke a 414 to get to 370, 360 would be the cheaper route. |
