Turbo Recommendations
|
Looking for a turbo recommendation for the 5.9 Cummins build I have going into a “farmstock” tractor class
Class limited to a 3LM466 or smaller turbo (58mm inducer compressor) Class also limited to 3000 RPM - No water or cut tires Current stock turbo is a Holset H1C - 54mm compressor I don’t believe that a 3LM is my best option but I’m not 100% certain. I’d like some suggestions and recommendations on what turbo you believe is best as well as where I should purchase the charger. I appreciate your help. |

How many horsepower will an S200 support? And would an S200 be better than a S300 for my application at 3000 RPM?
And a MWE is permitted, yes |

I don't know of an S300 with that small of an inducer. An S200 will support up to 650hp by the BW catalog. |

Depends on the wheel in it but the s257 on our case 2590 farm tractor is rated for 56lbs/min if I remember correctly, and if you use the old fashion 10hp per lb/min then of course 560hp. Plus or minus 50 depending on your setup. You likely won’t be able to turn an s300, you might, but I don’t think so. Maybe a s360 with the tightest housing. Doubt you’d stay on top of it at the end though. The s257 with a 61mm turbine and .83 a/r will hit 30lbs of boost, probably around 200cc’s of fuel. That’s just for reference, not really relatable. |

That’s great information guys. I’m glad I asked because I wasn’t sure about an s300 or not.
InjPumpEd, I will probably be giving you a call sometime soon. Thank you for your help |

An S200 57mm would be perfect, as long as you're allowed a turbo with MWE. I sell quite a few of them for smaller CID engines pulling. |

That sounds a lot like a class in western Pa that has been called Tough Farm.
Where are you located? Maybe we can bring our tractor to your pulls. Rich |
