Best pullers in Louisville history?

There are a number of divisions and the lineup of classes has changed through the years, so several pullers could be mentioned.
I will start with my nominee as one of the best at NFMS: John Lancaster. I'm not sure if he has the most wins, but he is surely up near the top. Also, keep in mind, unlike pullers since 1993 who could get 2 wins per year (if they won a prelim and a finals hook), during the period when Lancaster hooked, it was one and done. John Lancaster. Per Pulling Reference, his Louisville resume is 1989 NFMS winner- Lousville, KY 12,200 SS 1988 NFMS winner- Lousville, KY 12,200 SS 1987 2nd place NFMS- Lousville, KY 12,200 SS 1986 NFMS winner- Lousville, KY 12,200 SS 1983 3rd place NFMS- Lousville, KY 14,000 SS 1982 NFMS winner- Lousville, KY 14,000 SS 1981 NFMS winner- Lousville, KY 14,000 SS 1977 NFMS winner- Lousville, KY 15,000 SS 1976 2nd place NFMS- Lousville, KY 15,000 SS 1971 2nd place NFMS- Lousville, KY 5000 S |

I have to give Don Masterson a lot of credit Mr.Right side of the track on the white line in the finals for the win and I’m not a Deere fan but I had to cheer him on |

Here's your list
Bill hasn't touched the sand in Louisville in 6-7 years and still at the top. There are some within reasonable striking distance but it's hard to say if his record in PS and Mod will be beat. Bryan Lively - |

If we don’t count doubles, Bill Leischner can jump to the front of the pack with a win this year. John Murray Two-time Pedal Pull World Champion Let's Go Pulling, covering the sport of pulling in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama. Watch LGP on YouTube Like LGP on Facebook |

Lancaster LV stats are AC 180 & AC 210. D21 was in the early 2000's, in conjuction with Al Koch, as they each returned to pulling as a team, after a 12 year pulling hiatus.
Thanks Bryan for digging out that great winning compeitor list. |

To me, the logical one would be Banter Bros. So I went to pulling-reference.com to see if I was thinking correctly. As I scrolled the credits quickly, Banter has 10 wins listed, with more stats from LV listed as 2nd to 4th.
Dan Mayer has done a fabulous job discovering and posting all these great pulling historical facts. Thanks Dan! |

The Esdon Lehn “The King of Smoke”, The Blackbourns, and the Schmuckers in the PS class have been pretty good at the farm show too. |

Blackbourns and Schmuckers added even more on to the list of wins and top finishes at the NFMS. |
