What is the theory on decompression of a pullin motor August 30, 2009 07:58AM
Does anyonehave a theory on why most of the guys ive been talkin to want to decompress a motor? Im just starting and my motor is the olny one at the pulls that starts without starting fluid!

I'm fairly new to pulling also, but I think that most would decompress a motor in order to run more boost. Without decompression, the added boost would put too much stress on the internals.

You are absoutey right. It is more important in an alky than anywhere. It helps the motor stay together longer. Also maybe to help avoid detonation????
