I was wondering if anyone has considered using they’re data logger to shut down a runaway motor?
I’m thinking if you used a throttle position sensor to send a signal to the data logger that it’s at idle but if is reading excessive rpm’s it would send a signal to a solenoid to open the dump valve and send a signal to close the guillotine ? I realize that there is a chance of error but this would operate instantly, instead of a driver in panic trying figure out what is going wrong |

At this point data loggers are to be just that, a data logger.
Not to have feedback functions. Like wheel speed vs. Driveline input that could apply a brake. (Traction control). Your idea has huge merit! Just not legal as current rules are written. |

I wondered if traction control would throw a wrench in it, whole new can a worms |
