How much power can you put to a John Deere 4430 power quad without damage?

Any way to boost transmission?

Thanks for any feedback!

800hp is safe but it will handle more for awhile but it will fail sooner than later. About the only thing you can "boost" in the transmission is add disks to a 4440,50,55 quad range which makes it stronger and makes it overdrive instead of under drive. And you will have to tie the traction clutch and PTO clutch packs together because the traction clutch alone won't hold the power. That is a process that needs to be explained on the phone or in person.. you will be money and less headaches to wait until you can afford to put a good dry clutch and 3 speed transmission in it. But it can be made to work for a while.

Don't shift on the go will help save it too. Our tranny was modified, and we broke the input shaft and damaged some gears without shifting on the go. We have a Rausch (spelling) wet pulling clutch in ours and seem to be ok so far but was told by them we are at the limit on the clutch with HP. We put an Atlas billet input shaft and gears in ours. Another friend that pulls with us had the same issues and finally got rid of the 4440 rear and replaced it with a dry clutch 20 series rear from the engine back. That is the best way to go. Then you can put any pulling type clutch and gears you want in. Good luck. By the way another friend has been waiting for Atlas gears over a year for a 6030.
