Farm stock vs improved vs hot farm classes November 24, 2022 04:15AM
So into the farm stock pulling here in Central mn, I pull in the heavy farm stock classes 16,500 and 18,500. We have fun doing it and usually compete well, seems to be less pulls with the big classes so looking to get into the smaller classes, 12,000 is where everyone seems to be, my question is what are the actual fair rules or the big ones to stay within now adays? Farm stock vs improved farm vs hot farm. We all know there's no such thing as stock anymore. So would like to be in improved farm 12,000, so what are the rules or limits in that class? What's the difference between that and hot farm? Will be building some kind of a Deere, might try and jump in hot farm too just for fun. Thanks, Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I have pulled and attended pulls all over the country for more than 40 yrs. almost every pull in some class, someone always out classes the rest. Badly(or good, however you look at it). Improved and Hot no different, many places in the Midwest one tractor will dominate, a lot some at several pulls, sometimes different ones, but rules are not followed, or enforced. Just the nature of competition.

Hot Farm is kind of fading in this area, Renegade Pullers has a 466 2.6 Hot Farm class.

As far as Farmstock/Improved Farm, that's kind of the same thing here. It's factory appearing pumps, no cube limits, we had a meeting about going to a 2.5 limit on the compressor side but nothing was put in place, but that might be coming. No water or any other injectables. 20.8x38 maximum tire size, no cut tires. This class is growing and growing pretty quickly! Some places might get 18-25 of those tractors to show up.
