Curios... Has anyone ever built a roll cage out of square tubing? Does sfi allow that? Dumb question but new to this sport. Thanks |

That wouldn't be SFI approved. 2 inch diameter .120 mild steel or .095 chrome moly tubing is the only approved material for the cage hoops. |

Just to specify, the .120 x 2" TUBING needs to be DOM.
As some have found, water pipe will not pass. |

Anyone have the SFI specs on wheelie bars (diameter/thickness)? Also can square tubing be used on them? Thanks |

No SFI spec on wheelie bars.
Yes, square tube is ok to use. Generally required to lift the rear tires off the ground. |

Take the time (and money) to get a certified cage built. If not for yourself then for the track workers that will have to cut a body out of a tangles mess of metal. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/19/2022 06:00AM by mh49. |

Anybody can build a "certified" roll cage. Most like Engler and Modern Machine have theirs certified. We build roll cages to SFI specifications, and the puller who purchases the roll cage must get it certified at a certification pull. |
