What are the Pro's and Con's of running a dry block and head? Does the head need to be filled? |

Yes fill the head and leave the block open. You will need an oil heater. Pros NO water issues Con can't run motor as long |

Get a leaf blower or 2 in case you need to cool it down quick for a 2nd run with a sled reset or pull-off. |

Have run dry block and head for 6 years, head is not filled, pop out the freeze plugs. Use Leaf blower to do quick cool down , we do run an enter cooler. |

Ohio Case

We have ran a dry block for 6 yrs, head is not filled, altered/hot farm class. It does take us about 45 min to get the block cooled down to a manageable temp in 80 deg. outdoor temps with leaf blowers. We do spray about 3/4 of a gallon of water to help keep the turbo from melting down. |
