Having some issues with oil on the track at the end of our pull from oil expelling out of the blow by hoses. currently running 2 - 3/4" hoses off valve cover. Looking for catch can ideas for a resolution of this issue before it becomes a track official's concern. Anyone have an recommendation of one that has worked well for a pulling application? |

We built tanks that is about 6" in diameter and 18" long out of aluminum pipe, on the inside is another pipe about 2" in diameter that is welded to the inside top. This inner pipe is then cut to about 12" long and vented out the top and down the outside of the tank. We run V-8 engines so we have two LB90 fittings set into the top of the larger pipe so it will start a swirling motion along the inside of the larger pipe. The thinking on this is that it will sling any oil against the sides. The blowby can then go to the bottom of the tank and exit up through the 2" pipe inside. We have a ball valve on the bottom to drain the tank after one or two passes.
We have run this setup for five or six year on four Hemi's and I don't think we've put a drop of oil on a track. These tanks only weigh 6 or 8 lbs each, I think they could be half their size and still be affective. S'no Farmer |
