Does anyone know if waukesha made a 426+ cui diesel? if so what's the model number of it? How much hp can you get out of it? I don't want to hear go the cummins route I already have one and am looking to do something different. How hard are they to come by?
Yes they made one in that cubic inch neighborhood. They are hard to find and main bearings are expensive. Different is expensive. The Cummins route is less expensive and the parts are more readability available. I try to apply the KISS principle to any builds. KISS stands for keep it simple stupid. I've been down the oddball expensive route and it's not worth it. The only thing that knows your are unique is your bank account.
