3 speed small block John Deere transmission problem
Not going to mention who built it but I am having a issue with it trying to jump into gear when you rev engine
I have had it apart 2 times and still same issue
I have beefed up detent ball
This is not a new transmission, has been pulling for several years
I just changed gears on pinion and counter shaft to change speed

What’s the condition of the shifting cam? Particularly in the detent area? Cone or ball type detent? Ball style is newer.
Shifting linkage? Stock, custom, what series? Many 30-55 series were counterbalanced with a spring to take the weight of the linkage off the shifter cam.

Are you sure that one of the gears on the pinion is not too tight? If the gear starts to grab the shaft it will make the tractor move just like you put it in gear. This would make sense that it happens when you rev it up. Are you sure there is enough oil in the transmission. It needs to be atleast up to the pinion shaft.
