There was a Case 830 with a 4 Cylinder in SS at Louisville in the early 80's. It was from the Georgetown Ky area. I believe the guy worked at Russell Stevens Case dealership as a mechanic at the time.

About 20-25 years ago there was a decent running 336 Case in western and southwestern Missouri...You might give Thad a call at Ruscha Machinery Sales at Verona,MO..He would know if anyone did...They have a FB page.

It will not flow enough air threw the head to compete. If your pulling on super loose tracks all the time it can be competitive. If they happen to be tough tracks you will be very disappointed.

IF your force feeding it with a meat grinder it will

I would be skeptical on the crank holding. Girlde it and find out. Maybe one of the construction engines has a counter weighted crank?
As far as “the heads won’t flow enough” a 336 is the same bore as a 504 so you can run 504 heads, few of them out there on alcohol.

Re: Case 336 September 08, 2023 08:43AM
The 336 is a good engine, but age and limited use will make parts expensive, there are 2 different crankshafts used depending on HP, some have the same rod and main journal size as the high HP 504 motors, but are very hard to find, others have the same rod and main journal size as all of the older Racine built motors going way back to the 400, This may at best be marginal for size and strength for the HP needed for the LLSS class, ,as far as heads they use the same size valves as the 504, most have a balancer assy. in the motor but can be eliminated, Look into destroking a 504 to get to 466, the 930 gas motor is 377 cid, cross flow heads will fit, good luck on what ever you try.
