What gear ratios and ring & pinion is everyone running in the Pro Field 466 3500 RPM class with 20.8's. I have the 13/51 with a 1066.
Thanks |

Depending on the track anywhere from 22:1 to 19:1 and in between. |

[i one under, one and two over would be the ideal transmission, road gear on tough tracks, one over on looser tracks, two over when you go pick on the farm stock tractors and one under when you’re in Shipshewana[/i] |

Right now I have a transmission with direct 1-3 over. What ring & pinion would you recommend with it? Or would you still recommend 1 under?. |

Run a 12/49 with that then. That will give you 22:1 21:1 20:1 19:1 |

Caleb- If you decide to go with a 12/49, I have a good one on the shelf that is available. Let me know if interested. |

Direct with a 706 13/49 R&P (21.2 : 1) will win you a lot of pulls if you have everything else right in an 1070-1150 hp class. Tires have a lot to do with it also for the gears. Taller tires and more tread depth = slower gear than short and less tread. |

Thank you all. If I keep my transmission setup that I have what ring & pinion would be the best out of the 3 to use. From what I looked up the 706 would give me 21,20,19,18. With the one I have now would be 22, 21, 20,19. If I go with the 12/49 it would be 23, 22, 21, 20. We plan on hooking some in the PPL profarm class. |

You are wrong Caleb, The 12/49 will give you 22, 21, 20, 19 you are correct on the 13/49. A 13/51 will split the difference in them |

Sorry I responded on the wrong thread. Well from what I looked up direct with a 12/49 is 23 to 1 and the 13/51 is 22 to 1. Anyone else have anything else on this. I don't have a problem switching ring & pinions just want to put in the one thats most common for this class. |

12/49 rp with all over is a good setup, if you needed 1 under still then throw off some weight |

12/49 is 23-1 direct, well technically 22.929, close enough to 23 for me anyway but I digress. It also would be an ok choice to use with your transmission if you don’t plan to change the ratios in it. |

Dairy Blend, just curious how much weight needs to be dropped to make this work? 200 lbs? more? less? |

500ish pounds, also can air tires up a little harder or drop the hitch an inch (only do that as a last resort). It's all something you will have to learn and play with depending on your particular tractor set up |
