For Pullers: Is this a problem you encounter?

Jason Schultz posted on the Beer Money Facebook that they intended for the Remedy DSS to run at Spencer, IA, but (if I understand correctly) turbo parts that were being shipped were at some undisclosed location in Illinois and Fed Ex couldn't find the package. So no pull for the Remedy tractor.
This got me wondering: How big of a problem is it for pullers waiting on parts that were supossedly shipped, maybe even with a tracking number, but Fed Ex, UPS or whomever has trouble locating where the package is? Is this rare or more common than we think? Pullers, in your experience, is there any real difference between UPS, Fed Ex. DHL, or the USPS? |

Fedex is the absolute worst. Stuff ends up at garage, shed, barn, house, end of driveway, sidewalk in the rain, neighbors at end of road, neighbors across road, tag on door saying undeliverable, lost, broke or not at all.
UPS shows up inside the covered porch every time. USPS took 29 days to deliver a payment ten miles away and still waiting on another check mailed three weeks ago |

We have missed pulls before due to parts lost in the mail or screwed up in shipping. It doesn't seem to matter which carrier either but USPS is defiantly the worst and UPS is probably the most reliable. |

I agree with the above posts. Fed ex rolled out a turbo into the middle of the drive way. To show my age, DHL delivered a set of pistons and pins at the house on the front porch under the sign put delivery on back porch. We have always has Husky dogs and they got ahold of the boxes and chewed on them. Destroying the pistons with bite marks all over them. USPS is a joke.
UPS so far all has been good with them. |

I have great luck with ups and usps, but know both my local drivers as friends |

It seems to be regional, in our area UPS is generally the best, but not perfect. For small things, I have good luck with USPS. The worst is the low-cost shipping companies that subcontract to USPS, tracking is almost impossible, and delivery can take days longer than promised. FedEx is a real crapshoot, and if I have a choice, I will not use them. |

The normal UPS driver is awesome. He brings packages to the shop and will put them inside if it's raining. USPS is ok and most cases delivers on time but will lose packages for a few weeks before showing up. FedEx is the worst. They will throw boxes any where. Boxes show up damaged, left in the rain and never delivered in the same spot twice. Last package FedEx delivered was left next to the road but said was delivered at the front porch. |

I prefer UPS over Fed Ex, my last packages sent by Fed Ex I paid extra for next day shipping. Both were shipped from Illinois to Wisconsin one made it late the next day the other went to Tennessee and got lost for 3 days. Can't get a refund on the extra I paid for shipping.
The company I work for ships allot of parts all over the country, North and South America, and China and we use UPS for express and Fed Ex for the standard no hurry shipping. We have to use both or we would overwhelm the local terminal for either if we only used one. |

I believe I read somewhere that a few years ago Matt Goodwin's injection pump for his SS IH got lost in shipping and was never seen again....He was unable to finish the season... |
