NY state level modified September 24, 2024 04:24AM
Was looking for an idea on the cost to build/run a competitive mod at NY state level. Would prefer 2 hemis. Thanks

Just show up.
There's really no equipment in that class especially on the Eastern half.

Re: NY state level modified September 25, 2024 02:44AM
ESP averaged 4 mods per class this year and last year. Class is practically dead.

Ok - let’s assume grand national level light modified cost to build and run..? I am aware of the low numbers in esp and Nytpa

Just wondering what state level pulling does have good numbers at a majority of their events.

Wolverine combo tractor class almost always has a good turnout: SF, LtPro, HF, SSD, SSO, 5.0 Pro, Lm Pro.

GN Light Mod Cost? September 25, 2024 01:09PM
Everyone seems to be off-topic...

Are you planning on building the mod yourself? Or having one built? Or buying a preexisting mod? As you mentioned in your other post, the GN Light Mod is a good comparison. Also a side question: what Mods (or Chassis) are currently For Sale?

This page is a free service. The cost is covered out of my pocket. It takes a great deal of time and a fair amount of money to keep this website going. Donations for: photos, classified ads, forum discussion, etc... are appreciated.

Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal.

Re: GN Light Mod Cost? September 25, 2024 01:16PM
I would guess 275 would be a new light mod build. That’s my uneducated guess

Re: NY state level modified September 25, 2024 09:24PM
A lot of variables but that being said. In my opinion to have a top notch all new light mod built would probably be 275 to 300. Regional tractor could be done a lot less. Depends on what you want. I have a chassis that is made for just that if you were interested. New tube frame. Rockwell rear. Mag Franklin planetary. New billet carrier. Scs reverser. Modern cage, cross box and engine plates. Headers and oil tanks go with for Veney combination. $35,000 . If interested 608 485 0760

Thanks Jake for re-directing, I would prefer to buy already built/proven, they seem to be cheaper. From those that have run them what’s the cost to run throughout the season?

Thanks

Re: NY state level modified September 26, 2024 02:48PM
That is a loaded question, it really depends on breakage. Some years you can get by with very little breakage other years something breaks every pass (my year this year). A valve breaking seems minor but by the time you replace a piston or two maybe the rods then the big expense and time of getting the head repaired.

If you run pretty often figure on freshening the engines each off season, rods, bearings, rings and blower at the least. It's not an inexpensive hobby...fun and challenging yes...inexpensive no.

I've never kept track of weekly expenses and income but when I look over my taxes I am usually shocked at the numbers. Is it all worth it...so far yes.
