Kevin Masterson won the farm show in 1997 and then again in 2023. Going 20+ years between wins.
Keep an eye on Bill Leischner this week. He is coming off a really good 2024 season and last won the farm show in 1994 I do believe. So he could win for the first time in 30 years. Sorry I went down a Dan Mayer type rabbit hole but I don't think anyone has ever won two farms shows with a longer drought between wins than Kevin Masterson. Good chance he adds to his collection this weekend too. |

After the pass River Rat made last year, im sure Kevin is eager to lay down a monster pass if things hold! |

Unfortunately Bill Leischner was one of the most surprising runs of the class. I'm sure he's pretty disappointed with his pass. Was shocked with Bill's pass as well as with Doug Theobold. It looked like Grant found a problem with one of the motors while starting it, there was some argument and attempt to fix it but looked like he gave up and said just run it. Sometimes I wish we could do a quick interview with pullers after their run to hear what happened. |

Does anybody have any video footage of Leischner or Theobolds runs? Working and unfortunately couldn’t stream the whole thing last night |

People complain that the best of the best didn't get in or that last years NFMS winner didn't get in... and other people complain that it's the same guys every year. It can't be both!
The truth is they do a great job keeping things fresh and making sure it doesn't get stale. Are they perfect? Nope. Neither are any of us. Last nights Mod class is a prime example, there were some legendary big names that didnt get accepted and some that did get in but fell short. As for Theobolds, yeah that was a big surprise too. Sounded like it only ran on two engines. Jake Morgan Owner, PULLOFF.COM Independent Pulling News This page is a free service. The cost is covered out of my pocket. Saw on the Wicked Facebook that they chose too high of a gear...they haven't run with the 14-71 blowers much in the last few years, that might be part of it.
I myself haven't run with three engines for several years and it would likley take me a few passes to get things right. S'no Farmer |

Are you planning to run 3 engines on either of your tractors this summer if breakage can be avoided? |

No, this time last year I wanted to do that for last summer but then realized that I don't have the stamina to get that done. We are a small team and Mod tractors take a lot of work so we decided to be satisfied with our two engine setup.
I've had back issues most of my adult life and with age those things don't get better I can assure you. I just had a conversation with my wife this week about those very things. My back issues have changed to where driving is a problem ( the hauler not the tractor ) and with the Lt Mod class several events are 9 hours plus on the road...I'm not sure how much of that I can endure. I'm pretty hard headed and love pulling so I'll likley give the Lt Mod one more summer after that time will tell the tale. Last year we had mechanical issues in Rockwell,IA and if it weren't for the help of the Sullivan team and Austin Berry helping I'm not sure I could have done it. Not whining just a fact of life.
