Overturn any sheetmetal/ any engine rule? October 23, 2009 06:18AM
Since the polls show an overwhelming opposition to this new rule, will it be overturned? Last year they tried lowering the cubic inch limit in the pro stock class and all of a sudden that idea was trashed. What's going to happen?

unfotunately, I don't see this rule going away like the cui rule last year. first, the new rule is not more restrictive in fact it is more open. the cui rule last season was definitelty restrictive in nature. second, the new rule is easier to police because other than cui limit the engine rules are not restrictive whatever motor in whatever tin work. finally, the new rules allows for all creeds and colors so the color complaint goes away.

I don't like it but it seems we will be stuck with this rule. I just hope there are enough tractors in this class to keep the class alive. btw I don't see ppl prostocks adopting thus rule change.

I think everyone who’s read this page knows my opinion, and I still think a Deere should be a Deere.

I honestly don’t think they will overturn the new rule. Unfortunately the NTPA can’t seem to recognize that brand loyalty is (was) their biggest strength. I’ll probably be in the minority, but I’ll be voting with my feet and looking for other options.

If this rule stands in the NTPA, I won’t care one bit about their PS class, I’ll just watch the PPL PS class instead, they have top notch tractors, and some absolutely great competitors. If every non-green tractor left PPL, and it was a 100% John Deere class, I’d still rather watch that, than a class with fake color.

As for the Open Super… I really like the true Case tractors of the Haug’s, the Roberts/Evans/Howell team, Jeff and Bill Hirt, Patrice and Pierre Beaudry, as well as all the NTPA regulars… like the Lustiks. I don’t think I’ll be missing much watching the PPL Unlimited Super instead of the NTPA Open Super.

As for the Light Supers and the Diesel Supers, I’ll be more than happy to watch those classes in organizations that don’t adopt these ridiculous rules, but as for the GN circuit… well I’m not really interested anymore. I wish them all luck, and I’ll cheer for those true band loyal tractors when they hook in other organizations that don’t allow cross dressing tractors.

The NTPA has a strong SF class, and their new Light Pro Stock Class looks like it has the potential to be a great class, but as for my summer 2010 NTPA events… I probably won’t make many if any NTPA events with this new rule.

Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal.
