Hello to all pullers and fans... maybe you can settle a dispute that we had during break today.. My co-workers and I were discussing how much fuel / diesel that the pullers use in an average pull. How many gallons are pumped thru on a pull... would appreciate knowing each class estimate useage and also on the modified truck and tractors.. Thank you for any info that you can supply.. a steak dinner rides on the answers you all provide.

I run a hot stock 3000 rpm tractor. I roughly go through 1 gallon of fuel in a pass and about 12 ounces of water for the water injection.

I have a prostock gas truck 485 on gas 12-17 second runs We average 1 1/2 gallon per run including idle thru the pits.

About two gallons of diesel and almost as much water but that includes water that keeps the turbo happy!

We have a 4 cylinder hot farm tractor that runs about 4000 rpm - we've never used more than a gallon of diesel fuel in a single run.

I think that's about the norm...roughly 1-2 gallons of diesel per run. As far as the alcohol trucks and tractors though, you'll be looking at 4-6 gallons (per engine - mulitiply by number of engines for the modifieds).

about 1/2 gallon in the tractor and 20-30 gallons in the truck to get there and back!!! lol

Our Diesel Super Uses

1-1/2 gallons of fuel on a 12 sceond pass which includes idle time to and from the sled and we also use 10 quarts of water during the pass

Thank you for your answers. he was telling me that the DSS would run 5 gallons for one pull..and superfarm/ LSS would run 4 to 5 gallons a run.

Did I read DSS puller's post correctly? He uses 6 quarts of fuel and 10 quarts of water in a pass? I'll admit I don't know much about this level of pulling, I'm learning as I go. (and yes, for now am a keyboard puller, but I work on my 1st tractor as time and money permits) I don't understand how that much water isn't counter productive. I know it's sprayed in the intake in various places, but I would appreciate some technical points on this please. (The alcohol amounts I understand)
