Question about John Deere casting numbers? January 19, 2010 07:07PM
What is the casting number for the light 7.6 block for a John Deere and what did they put this block in.
Also need to know the casting number for the light axle housings for a 4010 and where
is the best salvage yard to get these items from.

Thanks for the help

I believe any 7.6 block with the vertical oil cooler is light weight. These came in larger 7000 series tractors and 9500 combines. There is one version of this block that does not have the lower two bell housing bolts, but will still bolt to an ag rear. As for the lightweight axle housings the deere part number is R26010, by the way there is a set in the classifieds!
