USS Class V-8s January 31, 2010 01:53AM
Will the uss alky class be going to all V-8s? I hear you can get 1500rpms more out of a V-8 than a I-6 at 650 cubes. That sound right?

Long Machine 6 cylinder engines still seem to be able to run with any V-8.A few years back it looked like the big V-8 Cat was unbeatable but Brent found more horses. I dont think the class will ever go all V-8.

I belive thats a little V8 cat

That Cat is one of the biggest ci engines in the class. And we all have beat it before and will continue to in the future. It's also real nice that the 6cyls have to have shields over EVERYTHING and the V-8s have EVERYTHING hanging out in the open.

Yeah, not familiar with the rules, but seems odd they can leave it all out in the open. i'm sure they can explode just like every other motor.

Re: USS Class V-8s January 31, 2010 09:57AM
all the v-8 mod and truck engines are out in the open too, so what's the problem with the V-8 tractors letting the heads hang out? the spark plugs are shielded and the heads are tied down so who cares? my money is still on the long machine motors. those cases arent too bad either, are they long machine or somebody else? who?

If you are referring to the temptation cases they are not a Long machine motor. they to the majority of the work themselves
