welding aris or ross piston bowls February 01, 2010 01:15AM
can piston bowls be welded and remachined to raise the compression ratio, also would a 5356 alloy aluminum wire work or does it need to be another alloy wire?

You will never be able to match the alloy of the piston which will make the weld expand at different rates from the piston causing cracks or the whole weld to come loose. Time for new pistons
