I need to set the pump at 3000,right now it surges. I also would like to know how much fuel it can do,thanks.

Could you let us know what pump you are running? If my short bit of knowledge is correct aren't there a couple of different pumps that came on the 3208 not to mention if you upgraded to a p pump. This may help in your search for knowledge.

on the v stlye pump there are two covers on top of the pump. one is for rpms and the other is fuel setting. small one will adjust rpm by screwing the screw out for hire rpms. same onthe fuel side. the easy and cheap thing to first try to fix the surging problem is to change the trottle arm on the side of pump

The reason your motor surges is because the governer spring isnt strong enough. If you take the governer housing off you got to either shim the back side of the spring to stiffen it or you can cut a piece of pipe to fit inside of the sleeve which will do the same thing.... I cant remember the lenght of the pipe you need. if you wanted to call Area Diesel and talk to Vaughn he could definately help you. 1 800 637 2658. You can also change the plungers to larger ones and lazer the injectors which will help you also. Call Vaughn and he will lead you in the right direction for sure depending on what you are looking to do. I have two 3208s that we run here on the farm that will turn 4000 rpms and do not surge at all. Been so long since i ve done much with a v pump.... I have two tractors that we pull pro stock with v8 cats in them but we run a sigma on one and a p pump on the other. Got any questions call me 1 207 730 1640. Kevin Taylor
