9 bolt weld ons February 16, 2010 04:58PM
Thinking about putting some weld on hubs on a tractor. How much weight difference is there between 10 and 9 bolt rims? Also would the 9 bolts be good up to 12500 lbs? Anybody ever just welded the center plate in double bevel wheels before?

9 bolt rims will be lighter but I don't know exactly how much my guess is 25lbs per wheel. I would think you wouldn't have a problem running up to 12500lbs on them. I've seen dual rims with just a center welded in a double bevel rim before, just make sure it completely level with the rim before you weld it otherwise it will wobble even if its off a little bit.
